Review of Hoppers
I know, I know. What’s a kids movie doing on an environmental blog? The truth is, my daughter forced me to watch it with her and I discovered this kids movie was actually a really cute story with some solid environmental themes.
Hoppers is about a girl struggling to control her temper (the character actually really reminded me of Ember from Elemental) who spends time in her grandma’s glade to control her temper. Her passion for animals and the environment frequently made her butt heads with the mayor, until the mayor decided to destroy the glade.
Without spoiling it, the movie does a great job of introducing environmental topics and positive paths forward, without ramming it down your throat. It’s a fun story with a lot of cute elements, and while it isn’t realistic, learning to coexist is.
I really enjoyed this movie, and hope you’ll “hop” to your local library to check it out.
